Beaconsfield Senior Football Club Pink Ladies Day Luncheon

It has become a tradition that the Mothers Day weekend of football is dedicated to raising the awareness of breast cancer and raising funds to support Peter MacCallum in their reasearch into the deadly disease. It is fantastic to see local football clubs get behind this amazing cause, and I was fortunate to attend an event hosted by The Beaconsfield Football Club.

The club rooms were awash with pink as 160 women gathered to support breast cancer by attending the Pink Ladies Day Luncheon, and what an absolutely spectacular afternoon it was.

The club have been hosting the event for a number of years but it was only the second year at their amazing new club room facilities. The food was spectacular and the champagne and wine flowed as we all banded together to raise money for such an amazing cause.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as we listened to the incredibly inspirational story of Stacey Johnson. Stacey was diagnosed with breast cancer in the second trimester of her pregnancy and faced a battle that no young mum should have to face, as she waged the war against cancer while still trying to protect the life of her unborn child. Thankfully the story ends well with a healthy son and Stacey here to share her amazing story.

The Beaconsfield Football Club did a spectacular job organising the event and raising much needed funds for cancer research. There was even a visit from the entire senior football team much to the pleasure of the audience. The Beaconsfield boys went on to beat Doveton quite convincingly at the end but the big winner was Peter MacCallum.

Well done Beaconsfield!

We at AllSports4You would like to encourage you to watch the attached YouTube clip that has been inspired by the late Chrissy Amphlett in an endeavour to encourage all women regardless of age to be aware of their body and to check regularly for any sign of breast cancer.
